Behind Her Silence

Every day, she wakes up before the world stirs.
She dresses with care—not to impress, but to protect. She steps out of her home, carrying not just her bag and ambition, but an invisible armor against the world outside.
To the people watching, she’s just another woman—maybe a college girl, maybe a working woman—stepping out to study or earn. “Look at her,” they say, “she’s doing well for herself.” But behind that simple routine is a battlefield no one sees.
The bus she takes is not just a vehicle; it's a war zone.
Hands brush too close, eyes undress her, words are whispered like poison.
She stands there, gripping the overhead rod tighter than her patience.
Sometimes, she fights back. Sometimes, she just endures—because that’s what she’s been taught.
In college or in the office, the struggle doesn’t end.
A teacher’s bias. A classmate’s unwanted gaze. A colleague’s "harmless" joke. A boss’s inappropriate request masked as a compliment.
And if she dares to speak up, the blame turns to her—her clothes, her smile, her confidence.
She walks through every moment with strength that no one applauds.
They only see the result—her marks, her salary, her progress—not the trauma wrapped within each achievement.
They don’t know how she breaks down silently at night, only to put on a brave face the next morning.
Still, she keeps going.
Not because the world is kind, but because she’s stronger than what the world throws at her.
Because she dreams—not just for herself, but for the generation of girls after her.
And yet, her pain remains hidden—behind her silence.
So the next time you see her walking down the street, don’t just admire her courage—acknowledge her pain.
Don’t just respect her achievements—recognize her endurance.
Because behind every silent woman is a story too heavy for words.
